This Privacy Policy describes how Route Finder ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using Route Finder, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you register, we collect:
The app requests access to your device's precise GPS location only when you explicitly choose to use the "current location" feature.
Places you add (labels, addresses, and coordinates) are stored in the cloud to allow synchronization across your team. All sensitive fields — place label, address, and GPS coordinates — are encrypted before being stored, using a key that never leaves your device.
If you enable biometric authentication (fingerprint or Face ID), a preference flag is stored securely on your device using the operating system's encrypted storage. No biometric data itself is ever collected or transmitted.
If you set a master password, a derived key is stored in secure device storage. Your master password is never stored in plain text.
The app locally caches route results and settings to support offline access and improve performance. This data stays on your device.
| Purpose | Data Used |
|---|---|
| Account creation and authentication | Email, display name |
| Route optimization | Location coordinates, addresses |
| Team collaboration | User ID, team membership, encrypted places |
| Biometric login | Biometric preference flag (device only) |
| Improving app performance | Locally cached route and settings data |
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Route Finder uses the following third-party services. Their privacy policies govern their use of your data.
To calculate optimized routes, the app sends place coordinates and addresses to Google APIs:
Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Firebase services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase Terms of Service.
If you are part of a team, places you add are accessible to all members of your team. Places are stored encrypted; the shared team encryption key is distributed and stored locally on each team member's device. We do not have access to the contents of your team's places.
You may permanently delete your account at any time directly within the app:
Upon deletion, your authentication credentials and personal profile data are permanently removed from our systems. Encrypted place data associated solely with your account is also deleted. If you are a member of a team, places you contributed may remain accessible to other team members until the team owner removes them. Local data stored on your device (cache, secure storage) is removed when you uninstall the app.
Account deletion is irreversible. If you wish to use Route Finder again after deletion, you will need to create a new account.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
Route Finder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app or on our website with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
